Christmas in Banff!
Christmas is only 15 days away and I am getting so excited! We purchased and decorated our tree last Monday (and it is still standing, which we were worried about due to our cat's curious nature) and the Christmas parties begin this Saturday.
I love Christmas in Banff because it is a totally different experience; you can head to one of the ski hills for a few hours and enjoy the fresh air before filling up on turkey. Skating on the Bow River is amazing and hiking up Tunnel Mountain is another option. Being in the Mountains on such a magical day is incredible!
Most restaurants are still open on December 25th and offer a special Christmas Dinner. And then there are the boxing day sales; I purchased some awesome discounted clothes last year at the Gap and Roots. If you're lucky, maybe you will find a deal on a new pair of skis or snowboard.
There are lots of things going on in town leading up to Christmas; including "Christmas at the Castle". Every day from now - January 02nd at the Banff Springs, different Christmas Characters are walking around the hotel and interacting with people (including Santa).
Banff is a fun place to be over the holidays and if you are looking for something new this Christmas, you should definitely visit us! The Banff Aspen Lodge will be having a 72 hour sale and offering a rate of $99 on new bookings for those people staying December 21 - 26, 2010 (restrictions apply). This special will be available to book from December 12th - 14th.
Imagine relaxing in one of our outdoor hot tubs (beside the fireplace) and seeing Santa's sleigh fly through the sky...very magical indeed :)

There's lots to do in Banff during the Christmas holidays and the Banff Aspen is a good place to stay.
Banff National Park is one the most beautiful places you could visit. An all inclusive ski vacation here is just amazing to discover.
