Bowling in Banff

One of the best kept secrets in Banff is that we have a bowling alley! The Bowling Centre is located in the Banff Springs Hotel Conference Centre; it is just beside the Nester's Market and Liquor store. There are four lanes and it is the standard Canadian Five Pin Bowling.


I went up recently for the evening and had a blast; the five pin bowling is easy and lots of fun. I discovered that I will never be a professional bowler ~ I definitely got a few strikes, but quite a few of my turns were "gutter balls" :)

They sometimes do Neon Blacklight Bowling. We discovered that taking photos during the "light show" can result in a player getting a score of -15; apparently the the camera flash and lights react together to score a "foul". This is a good thing providing you are not the person who receives the negative score...

The bowling centre serves drinks and light snacks are available. Music is provided and there is a Games Room with tons of video games. It definitely makes for a fun evening and I recommend everyone to check it out~
