Lake Louise Ski Area: Something Happening in all Seasons~
I was lucky to attend the Lake Louise Ski Area End of Season Party at the beginning of May and had an awesome day. The snow on the backside of the mountain was really great and I was able to enjoy some food and drink with friends while listening to some live music.
In the summer time the Lake Louise Gondola is still open and is transformed into the Lake Louise Sightseeing Gondola & Interpretive Centre. It is a gorgeous sightseeing area where you have the chance to see many different wild animals, including the Grizzly Bear.
Your visit begins with a 14 minute ride up a fully enclosed gondola which brings you to the top of the mountain. At 6850 feet you can enjoy the views of the wildflowers, natural springs and hopefully some wildlife! Interpretive Programs are available at the top of the mountain and include theme guided walks; other hikes are also an option if you want. There is a Wildlife Interpretation Centre to help you learn all about the area's history and appreciate where you are exploring.
